  1. It's 1 cup of Flour.
  2. It's 1 cup of veg. oil.
  3. Prepare 1 lb of fresh shrimp (peeled & deviened).
  4. It's 2 can of lump crabmeat.
  5. Prepare 2 packages of andouille sausage.
  6. It's 1 packages of smoked sausage.
  7. It's 1 of gumbo file.
  8. You need 1 of cajun seasoning.
  9. It's 1 of cayenne pepper.
  10. You need 1 of salt.
  11. You need 1 of pepper.

Seafood Gumbo step by step

  1. step #1: make Roux by heating a small pan add oil. Once oil is hot add flour constantly stirring until you get your desired color of Roux. (I like mines milk chocolate colored).
  2. step #2: In a large pot bring water to a boil..
  3. step #3: Now add your Roux to boiled water..
  4. step #4: Add all seafood (shrimp and crab meat).
  5. step #5: Allow seafood to cook for 30 to 45 minutes..
  6. step #6: Add your sausages.
  7. step #7: Give the pot a nice stir..
  8. step #8: Add salt.....pepper & gumbo file (desired taste).
  9. step #9: Taste.....
  10. step #10: Now add your spices (Cayenne pepper and Cajun seasoning).
  11. step #11: Give it another stir.....and taste. Add more spice if its not spicy enough..
  12. step #12: Let cook on low medium heat for another 1/2 hour. Stirring occasionally..
